The love of photography was taught to me by my father who lost the ability to see the small things around us due to Macular Degeneration. He now only has memories of some of the beauty that surrounds us. I got my first camera when I was 15 and have been hooked ever since. I started getting serious about photography when I was serving in the United States Navy. Traveling around the world gave me a very photo rich environment to work with. During that time I was working with 35mm slides, which I took thousands of while traveling. When I returned home I put a darkroom together with the help of my father and started studying the art of black and white photography, developing and printing. In 1999 I was introduced to Photoshop and have been an avid user ever since. I now use Adobe Lightroom along with Photoshop for all of my pictures and shoot almost exclusively in digital raw format.
