Another summer coming to an end….
|
| As the sun was rising; the fog from the cool night hung like a blanket over the prairie.
A backstop now covered with plant growth loomed over the area. Now it's only purpose was to serve as a memory of the prairies past.
I love this time of day, especially when the woods are covered with fog. This is a magical time for me.
A light coat of moisture that glistens like small diamonds with the soft new light of sunrise covers the foliage. The fog looks like a low lying rainbow as the new light cuts through it.
On this morning I was happy to see that several new seed pods had opened and had a light mist on them.
At some angles this caused the fine white cotton fibers to have a slight cast of color.
The micro sized moisture droplets were a bonus adding aglass-like surface to them.
Some of the pods had small bugs feeding on the outer covering, helping them to open.
There were also a few flowers hanging on until the very end. Let the change of color begin…. |
